Gotham's new District Attorney has been elected. His name is Harvey Dent, and he has a radical new agenda that threatens to take down Gotham's organized crime underworld once and for all with an iron fist. But the emergence of the rogue vigilante known as Batman has caused problems for Dent and his agenda. A new criminal mastermind known only as "The Joker" has arrived and aims to take Gotham out from under Harvey Dent's iron fist. The Joker stages a masterfully planned bank robbery and robs the Gotham mob blind. He uses this money to stage a series of horrific and strategic attacks against the city and its people, each one carefully planned and aimed at Dent and Batman, while causing the rest of the city to enter panic mode. Meanwhile, Batman thinks he might have found a lead to The Joker thanks to Wayne Enterprises' dealings with a shady Chinese banker, and that takes Batman and Alfred to Hong Kong. The Joker has no rules, but Batman has only one, and the Joker aims to make Batman break his only rule. But who will be the one to take him out, will it be rogue vigilante Batman, or will it be elected official Harvey Dent, the new hero with a face?

Craft, skill, excellence, creativity, technology and an excellent spell binding script combine to create one of the masterpieces of all time. Surely it would take more than the above said virtues to surpass The Dark Knight and I am pretty damn sure that a sequel to this will have expectations sky high. As Heath Ledger's Joker may have said " This industry deserves a better class of movie. and I'm gonna give it to them. And dint they deliver the goods.
Unlike its predecessors, for that matter any movie which has a do-gooder superhero movie, the Dark Knight stands out for the immaculate articulation of a wide range of extremely high caliberd artist into a carefully woven masterpiece of all times. Heath Ledger as Joker left the world only after leaving us with the most perfect villain that the tinsel world has ever produced and surpasses Jack Nicholson's Joker for the shrewdness n cunningness and boy sure there is a chill that runs down the spine every time Joker appears on the screen. Its such a pity that the world lost this gem of an actor at such a young age.
The caped crusader had to change suits and upgrade his armory in every possible way to stand up against his nemesis. Christian Bale started of from where he had left of in Batman Begins. Aaron Eckhart was totally scintillating as Harvey Dent. The love triangle that featured Bruce Wayne, Rachel Dawes and Harvey Dent was pretty short, but classic. simply classic. Morgan Freeman returns as the caped crusader's arch-in-chief and he does that with bang. The Batpod and the bat bike. both were worthy of the superhero it got.
And yes a final word about the background score by James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer was simply mind blowing. In short Christopher Nolan wove out a masterpiece which enthralls, enthrills and keeps u on the edge of ur seats making u wish that u could come back day after day to see the whole spectacle again and again.
Folks. why so serious. Chill n go out to ur nearest theaters to watch the Movie of the Millennium.
